Answer:

A class is a user defined blueprint or prototype from which objects are created. It represents the set of properties or methods that are common to all objects of one type.

A class thus denotes a category of objects and act as a blueprint for creating such objects. An object exhibits the property and behaviors defined by its class. Generally, an object is an instance of a class.

A class is also called an object factory. A class defined with various primitive data types such as int, double etc; so it is known as a composite data type; and it is used to create objects which hold similar types of values and behaviours (functions).
