There are mainly six types types of soils found in India.

  1. Alluvial Soil - Found mostly in Punjab, Haryana, UP, Bihar, West Bengal, also in some parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and MP. It consists of minerals like salt, sand, clay and gravel which provides it high fertility.
  2. Black Soil - Generally found in central, western and southern states of India. It is rich in nutrients like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
  3. Red Soil - Found in western Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Southern Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chota Nagpur plateau of Jharkhand. In this soil there is a high percentage of Iron.
  4. Desert Soil - Found in Rajasthan, in some parts of Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab.It is highly rich in calcium carbonate and phosphate.
  5. Laterite Soil - Found in Eastern Ghat of Orissa, the southern parts of Western Ghat, Malabar Coastal plains and Ratanagiri of Maharashtra and some parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Meghalaya and western parts of West Bengal. It contains minerals of clay.
  6. Mountain Soil - This soil is found in hilly regions of J&K, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It contains nutrient inceptisols. Hope it helps pls mark it as brainliest.
