cleaning action of soap is due to the Micelle formation .the head of the micelle is ionic and tail is formed by hydrocarbon. the head of the micelle is hydrophilic in nature and tail of the micelle is hydrophobic in nature. such a way that the hydrophobic part is in the droplet and the hydophillic part project out. since the polar group interest with water sourrounding by soap is pulled from the surface and pulled in water .
