real image is formed by converging of light rays .This image can be obtain on a screen . real image are inverted with respect to object and virtual image is formed at a point from where the reflected or refracted light rays appear to diverge . this image is cannot be obtained on a screen. virtual image are errect with respect to the object

Answer:

In case of plane mirror, the image is erect, virtual and of same size as the object. ... Give one situation where a virtual image is formed.

The image which cannot be obtained on a screen is called virtual image. For example, virtual image is always formed in case of plane mirror and convex mirror.

A virtual image is formed when reflected rays appear to meet. Such images cannot be obtained on screen. Plane mirrors, convex mirror and concave lens always forms virtual image.
