Explain clearly what do you understand by free, forced and resonant vibration? Give two example in each case

1. Free vibration : The periodic vibration of body of constant amplitude in the absence of any external force onit, are called free vibration...for eg; striking a tuning fork by a jard rubber pad produce free vibration....

2. Forced vibration: The periodic vibratiion of body of decreasing amplitude in the presence of resestive force...for eg; when the stem of vibrating tuning fork is pressed in the top of table ,the tuning fork force the table top to vibrate its own frequency...

3. Resonance: It is special case of forced vibration ..when the frequency of externaly applied perodic force on a body equal to its natural frquency,The body start vibrating with an increase amplitude...for eg: resonance in machine parts
