coprecipitation (CPT) or co-precipitation is the carrying down by aprecipitate of substances normally soluble under the conditions employed. Analogously, in medicine, coprecipitation is specifically the precipitation of an unbound "antigen along with an antigen-antibody complex".

Precipitation

Co precipitation

Precipitation is settling down of insoluble particles from a solution

Co-precipitation is a process in which normally soluble compounds are carried out of solution by a precipitate.

In precipitation, normally insoluble compounds are precipitated

In co-precipitation normally soluble compounds are precipitated

Precipitation can result in both pure and contaminated precipitates

Co-precipitation incorporates contaminants into the precipitate

Precipitation can happen both at high and low temperatures.

Co precipitation is generally favored by low temperatures

Digestion favors precipitation
