the constituent assembly consists of 385 members of which 292 were elected by the elected members of the provincial legislative assemblies while 93 members are nominated by princely states to these where to be added a representative each from the fourth chief commissioners provinces of Delhi Ajmer Mawa Kora and British baluchistan

-CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY-
The drafting of Indian constitution was done by an assembly known as constituent assembly. First Elections to elect the members of the constituent assembly were held in July 1946. Its main function was to draft the constitution of India and hence they are called 'the constitution makers of India'.
This assemble comprises of total 385 members....from which 292 were elected by provisional assembly......while 93 members are elected from the princely states.
