The words 'We, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA' in the Preamble signify that the people of India are the real source of authority in the country. Therefore, it can be said that the Constitution reflects the wishes of the people.

Sovereign means the independent authority of a State. It means that it has the power to legislate on any subject; and that it is not subject to the control of any other State / external power.

Secularism is a part of the basic structure of the Indian Constitution and it means equal freedom and respect for all religions."

The term Justice in the Preamble embraces three distinct forms: Social, economic and political, secured through various provisions of the Fundamental and Directive Principles.

The word democratic refers not only to political democracy but also to social and economic democracy

Republic=== In a republican form of government, the head of state is elected and not a hereditary monarch. Thus, this word denotes a government where no one holds public power as a proprietary right.

The term 'liberty' means the absence of restraints on the activities of individuals, and at the same time, providing opportunities for the development of individual personalities.

The term 'equality' means the absence of special privileges to any section of the society, and the pro-vision of adequate opportunities for all individuals without any discrimination.

This refers to a feeling of brotherhood and a sense of belonging with the country among its people
