Hey Mate !!

Here is Your Answer :-----

Construction Of Hydroelectric Power Plant :-

  • A man made reservoir Called Dam(D) is a raised structure constructed to collect water. Water is stored behind this structure. This strored water allow to flow down where a turbine (T) is situated. This turbine is connected to the armature of the generator (G).

Working Of Hydroelectric Power Plant :-

  • When water stored in the dam is allowed to flow down , the potential energy of the stored water is converted into Kinetic energy of flowing water . When this flowing water, which possesses high kinetic energy strikes .

In hydroelectric power station the kinetic energy developed due to gravity in a falling water from higher to lower head is utilised to rotate a turbine to produce electricity. The potential energy stored in the water at upper water level will release as kinetic energy when it falls to the lower water level.

Hydropower plants capture the energy of falling water to generate electricity. A turbine converts the kinetic energy of falling water into mechanical energy. Then a generator converts the mechanical energy from the turbine into electrical energy.
