An effect whereby a mass moving in a rotating system experiences a force(the Coriolis force ) acting perpendicular to the direction of motion and to the axis of rotation.

Coriolis force:-Due to rotation of the earth,winds get deflected from their original path,to the right in Northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere. The force which deflects the direction of wind is called Coriolis force.
