CORROSION - Corrosion is a process of eating away of metals. A very good example is of rusting.
PREVENTION - By applying paint, greasing, galvanisation, oiling, etc.

RANCIDITY -
The process by which fat containing food materials develop a strange or awkward smell and makes the food unfit for consumption.
PREVENTION - by adding preservatives, by storing in air tight containers, by adding anti oxidants, etc.....

CORROSION
The phenomenon due to which metals are slowly eaten away by the reaction of air, water & chemicals present in the atmosphere is called corrosion. Example articles are shinybwhen new, but get coated with a reddish brown powder when left for some time.
This process is commonly known as rusting of iron. The black coating on silver and the green coating on copper are other examples of corrosion.

EFFECTS OF CORROSION
i)- Corrosion causes damage to car bodies, bridges, iron railings, ships and all objects made of metals, specially those which are made up of iron.
ii)- Corrosion is a wasteful process in the cases. Every year tones of various metals especially iron get wasted in the country. Hence, it is quite necessary to prevent corrosion.

THE METHOD TO PREVENT CORROSION ARE
By applying paint on iron articles , they can prevented from corrosion (rusting). Paint does not allow oxygen (from air) and water (moisture) to come in contact with the surface of iron.

RANCIDITY
It is the process of slow oxidation of oil and fat (which are volatile in nature) present in the food materials resuting in the change of smell & taste in them.

THE METHOD TO PREVENT RANCIDITY ARE
i)- Keeping food materials in air tight containers.
ii )- Packing of food items like potato wafers etc. , in packets containing nitrogen gas instead of air.
iii)- Refrigeration of cooked food at low temperature.
iv)- Avoid keeping the cooked food and food materials in direct sunlight.
v)- By adding antioxidant, e.g. BHA (Butylated Hydroxy Anisole) and BHT (Butylated Hydroxy Toluene).

I hope its helpfull for you.

IF IT HELPFULL FOR YOU THAN MARK AS A BRAINLIST.

THANK YOU.
