Covalent bonding is formed by sharing of electrons between two atoms rather than the actual transfer as is the case with Ionic bond. Example is water,Where Oxygen shares its lone pair with Hydrogen to complete its duplet and oxygen completes its octet and attain stability.

it is also called sharing of election.
