Mrs Packletides tiger by Saki is a satire on the upper class women . The Main protagonist Mrs.Packletide is greatly jealous of her arch rival Mrs.Loona bimberton and wants to shoot a tiger just to show her down .
⏪In her lust to shoot a tiger , she announced a reward of thousand rupees . And coincidentally, a neighboring village could boast of being the owner of an old , fragile tiger who had abandoned game killing and restricted his diet to domesticated goats . The reward of the thousand rupees had arousal of the shooting and commercial instinct of the villagers . Children were posted day night in the outskirts of the city lest he should run away before the hunt. Goats were left out with carelessness so that he should not die because of starvation .
Women returning from work hushed their singing least they should disturb the sleep of the venerable herd robber.Hence , the greed of the thousand rupees made the villagers do all such tics and tacs.
