⚫Crystallization
◾This is common method of purification of organic compounds based on the differences in the solubilities of compound and the impurities in a suitable solvent.
◾The suitable solvent is one in which the substance dissolves on heating and crystallizes out on cooling, and compounds is separated by filtration.
◾If the compound is highly soluble in one solvent and very little soluble in other solvent,
the Crystallization is carried out using a mixture of solvents.
