A cyclic process is the underlying principle for an engine. If the cycle goes counterclockwise, work is done on the system every cycle.
An example of such a system is a refrigerator or air conditioner.

◆ Cyclic process-
- A process in which the system after passing through various stages returns to its initial state is called a cyclic process.
- In cyclic process, graph is closed curve and thus there's no change in internal energy
- As ∆U = 0, ∆Q = ∆W
◆ Example-
- In heat engine, the system is made to undergo cyclic process so as to convert heat energy into work done.
