reversible process does not increase entropy (of the system and surroundings). During a reversible process, the system is in thermodynamic equilibrium with its surroundings throughout the entire process. In science, a process that is not reversible is called irreversible.

An irreversible process is a process that cannot return both the system and the surroundings to their original conditions. That is, the system and the surroundings would not return to their original conditions if the process was reversed.

All the cyclic process are Reversible but not all reversible process are cyclic. ... When a thermodynamic system from its initial states goes through different processes or change of states and finally returns to its initial state then it is said that the system has undergone a cycle.
