Dalton's \: postulates

✔1. Matter is made up of extremely small indivisible particles called atoms.

✔2. Atoms of the same element are identical in all respect ( size , shape , mass , etc).

✔3. Atoms of different elements have different mass and size and also possess different chemical properties.

✔4. An atom is the smallest particle that takes part in a chemical reaction.

✔5. An atom can neither be created nor be destroyed in a chemical reaction. Chemical reaction involves re - organization of atoms.

✔6. Atoms of same or different elements combine together to form compound atoms ( molecules).

✔7. When atoms combine with one another to form compound atoms ( molecules ) , they do so in simple whole number ratio.

✔8. Atoms of two elements may combine in different ratios to form more than one compound. [ H2O , H2O2 ].

Explanation:

Postulates of dalton are as follows

Matter are made up of very small tiny particles called atoms

Atoms are indivisible in nature

Atoms of similar matter are similar in all aspect whereas atoms of different matter are different in all respect

Atoms of different element may combine in the fixed proportion by mass to form a compound

Matter can never be destroyed nor be created

hope it helps
