Davisson and Lester Germer in 1923–1927, which confirmed the de Broglie hypothesis. This hypothesis, advanced by Louis de Broglie in 1924, says that particles of matter such as electrons have wave-like properties

Heya @ User

»The wave nature of electron was first experimentally verified by Davisson and germer in 1927

[ Refer the attachment for experimental set up]

»Electron emitted by electron gun are accelerated towards the nickel crystal

»The scattered electron from the crystal are collected by a movable collector.
Movable collector recieves a defraction pattern of electron beams

»This diffraction pattern is due to superposition of matter waves assaciated with moving electrons

»The diffraction pattern have a strong peak for an accelerating voltage of 54 V at a scattering angle 50 degree
