density is the measure of mass per volume. This means that density of any solid,liquid, or gas can be found by dividing its mass in kilogram by its volume in cubic metres.

density=mass/volume

the unit for density is Kg metre cube

Relative density---- it is ratio of a density of the  substance to the density of the given reference material

Density of a substance is defined as its mass per unit volume.

DENSITY=MASS/VOLUME

Relative density of a substance is defined as the ratio of its density to that of water at 4°c.

RELATIVE DENSITY=MASS OF SUBSTANCE /MASS OF EQUAL VOLUME OF WATER AT 4°C
