density is raitio of mass to volume        density= mass÷volume
                 example, when kerosene and water are mixed, you will find that kerosene will form the upper layer because it has less density than water.

Density is defined as mass per unit volume of a substance.
Formula:
Density =  \frac{Mass}{Volume}

Example:
i) The density of water at 4°C is 1g/cm³ ; this means at 4°C the mass of 1cm³ of water is 1 g.
ii) The density of Mercury is 13.6×10³ kg/m³ ; this means the mass of 1m³ of mercury is 13.6×10³ kg.
This shows Mercury is denser than water.
