FORMATION OF THE ROOT NODULE::
STEP 1::
Rhizobium bacteria that are present in the soil .
1.) These get attracted to the sugars and and amino acids which are released by the root
2.) hence the bacteria multiplies and gets attached to teh epidermal cells of the root hairs
STEP 2:
1.) Bacteria releases cell wall digesting enzymes like --- cellulase and pectinase
STEP 3:
Bacteria invade the root hairs and an infection thread is produced and carry the bacteria into the inner cortex of the root
STEP 4:
The bacteria is released from the infection thread into cortical cells which become bacteroids --which make the pericycle cells and cortical cells to divide
STEP 5:
The division, differentiation and growth leads to the nodule formation
