the light ray which come from top of the letter be get reflected from the plane mirror and reach our eye. our brain feels that the reflected rays coming from the inside of the mirror shown by dotted lines. similar thing happens for the rays coming from the bottom of the letter B also. that is why lateral inversion of letter takes place and the image seems to be reversed
