Explanation:

Dielectrics :

Dielectric are insulating ( non conducting ) material that can produce an electric effect without conduction .

How it work :

When dielectric material placed in an electric field ,then external field induced dipole moment . Due to which net charge on the surface of the dielectric appears and as a result electric field is less in magnitude then the external field , so field inside dielectric get reduced.
