hii the main difference between legislative assembly and council is that the legislative council is the upper house and the legislative assembly is the lower house (in case there is a provision for 2 houses).

Explanation:

For example- In India, we have 2 houses Rajya sabha and lok sabha.

The members elected to Lok sabha are called MLA(members of legislative assembly) who are elected through people's representatives and the members of Rajya sabha are known as MP(Members of Parliament). It includes the dignitaries who recieve a certain post by the winning PM of that particular party ok . Obviously, there are many different provisions and allowances -the PM can dissolve the lower house in a super-emergency state ok which u'll get to know by course and MLA's can b'come MP's also if they fall under a fixed strata ok.
