Nutrition is the process of taking food and using it for obtaining energy,growth and repair of the body.Animals depend on other organism for getting their food.They cannot make their own food,so they are heterotrophs.

★ HOLOZOIC NUTRITION :------ This mode of nutrition, in which organism like Amoeba and human beings eat food that may be in solid or liquid state. This food is taken into the body and then is broken down to provide the required nutrition to the body. In this first the food goes by the process of food chain i.e. Producer → Primary consumer → Secondary consumer → Tertiary consumer → Final consumer.
