Region of root are

Root cap - root is covered by a thimble like structure called root cap

1. Region of meristematic - it is located above the root cap. The cells of this region is very small , thin walled and divide repeatedly.

2. Region of Elongation - The cell of Elongation zone gradually differentiated and mature . From this region some of the epidermal cells form very fine, thread like structure called root hairs .

The root hairs absorb water and minerals from the soil.

The cell proximal to this region undergo rapid Elongation and enlargement and are responsible for the growth of the root in Lenght .

★ Region of Maturation :-

The cell of the Elongation zone gradually Differentiate and mature . Hence , this zone proximal to region of Elongation is called Region Of Maturation .

★ Root Hairs :-

From region of Maturation some of the epidermal cells form very fine and delicate thread like structure called Root Hair . These root hair absorb water and mineral from the soil.
