Explanation:

Anaerobic respiration in which the oxygen is absent and is a metabolic process. The first stage of anaerobic respiration is glycolysis. The molecule of glucose is broken into 2 pyruvate molecules. This respiration acts as a fermentation process.

The process is followed by the equation of:

Enzymes + glucose = carbon dioxide + ethanol/lactic acid.

Aerobic respiration involves the oxygen and there are 3 steps of process in it. They are glycolysis, electron transport system, and citric acid cycle.
