There are four main types of alignments in word processing. They are:
1. Left alignment - the left margin of the text is kept straight and with equal space for the beginning of line.
2. Right alignment - the right margin of the text is kept straight and with equal space for the ending of line.
3. Centre alignment - the text is placed at the centre of the page whereas the left and right margins are not maintained equal space for every line.
4. Justified alignment - the text is kept equally on every side with equal spacing at every line.
