There are two types of booting :
One is hot booting . It is also known as warm booting. Another one is cold booting.
Explanation:
In cold booting, system starts from initial state. It is also known as Hard booting. Here, user presses power button, instructions read from ROM, initiate booting process.
In worm booting, system restarts. Here, system does not start from initial state. This type of booting is also known as soft booting.
