Answers
It is the subsurface horizon, present just below the topsoil and above the bedrock. It is comparatively harder and compact than topsoil. It contains less humus, soluble minerals, and organic matter. The soil of horizon-A and horizon-B is often mixed while ploughing the fields.

This layer , also called top soil , is found below O Horizon . Seeds germinate and plants grow in this dark - coloured layer . It is made up of humus ( decomposed organic matter) mixed with minimal particles .
(3) B Horizon ....
It is also called the sub soil . This layer is beneath the A horizon and above the C Horizon . It contains clay and minerals deposit , like iron , aluminium , calcium carbonate etc ... It receives them , from layer above it , when mineraliged water drips from the top soil .
(4) C Horizon ...
It is the layer beneath the B Horizon . It consists of slightly broken up bed rock . Plant roots do not penetrate this layer and very little organic matter is found in this layer .
