1.SIMPLE LIPIDS:
-Simple lipids consists of esters of fatty acids with http://glycerol.Eg:Oils and fats.
-Oils are liquids at 20 degree Celsius and fats are solids at 20 degree Celsius.(all triglycerides).
-Fatty acids are divided into two types-Saturated and Unsaturated fatty acids.
-Saturated fatty acids such as Lauric, palmitic and Stearic acids.
-Unsaturated fatty acids such as Oleic acid,Linoeic acid ,Etc
2.COMPOUND LIPIDS:
-The compound lipids consists of Phospholipids.
-The Phospholipids are Lecithin,cephalin,Plasmalogens,etc.
-The important phospholipids present in animal and human tissues like in nervous tissues.
3.DERIVED LIPIDS:
-Derived lipids consists of Sterols.Sterols are classified as follows
1.Animal sterols eg:Cholesterol.(It is seen in all animals and human tissues)
2.Plant sterols eg:Phytosterols and
3.Mycosterols eg:Ergosterol.

Answer:
Explanation:-1)operational term for the substance i.e not soluble in polar solvents(water) and soluble in non polar substance(benzene, ether)
-It has greasy consistency
-long hydrocarbon chain
-Contains carbon,oxygen and hydrogen
-Fatty acids is the long term used for lipids
-Fatty acid hydrocarbon chain ends with carboxyl gropu(-COOH)
Fatty acids are of two types
(a) saturated:no double bonds
(b) unsaturated:double or more than double bonds
-They have lower melting point
