Ans - The substances which are considered to be extremely essential for the proper growth and survival of organisms, are known as "Nutrients".
Nutrients can be classified into 2 different categories as follows :-
- Macro-nutrients
- Micro-nutrients
*Macro-nutrients :-
Macro-nutrients can be defined as the nutrients which are responsible for providing energy to the body of organisms.
Eg - Carbohydrates, Protien, Fats, etc.
*Micro-nutrients :-
Micro-nutrients do not provide energy to the body of organisms but, they are equally important as their deficiency can cause several diseases and abnormalities in animal bodies (including Human beings).
Eg - Minerals, Vitamins, Water, etc.
