There are four different types of soils found in india . Namely,

♦alluvial soil : formed due to the depositions brought down by the rivers. It is a transported soil found in the delatic regions. it is a fertile soil.

♦ red soil : this soil is red in colour because of the presences of iron oxide.

♦black soil

♦laterite soil.

In india soils are divided into two :

Residual soil and transported soil.
