  • The chisel-shaped teeth present in front of the jaw are called biting the food. We have four incisors inlled incisors. They help in cutting an the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw.

  • Adjacent to the incisors are the canines. They help in tearing food. There are two canines in each jaw.

  • The teeth next to the canines are the premolars. They have ridges on top. These are flat and broad teeth. They help in crushing and chewing the food. Each jaw has four premolars.

  • The teeth located next to premolars are molars. They are the largest teeth in the mouth. They are flat with sharp ridges on top. They help in crushing and grinding the food. Molars are the most powerful teeth and can apply a lot of pressure on any food item. There aree six molars in each jaw.
