Diffusion is a passive process which occurs in the transportation of substances in plants.
*Gaseous substances can exhibit diffusion. Here it is the spontaneous movement of gaseous substances like carbon dioxide and oxygen from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration.
*It is passive movement of substance from a region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration. Diffusion helps in certain metabolic processes like absorption, respiration, excretion etc
