digestion is a catabolic process in which Complex and large components of food are broken down into their respective simpler and smaller forms with the help of various hydrolytic enzymes. these simpler forms are further taken up by different parts of the body and I finally absorbed.
the entire system which performs this process of digestion is known as digestive system in human beings the digestive system continues a long tubular structure called alimentary canal and digestive glands associated with it which creates various digestive enzymes.

in humans beings,the digestion of f food beginss in the mouth itself . in fact the digestion of food starts as soon as s we put food in our month .in mouth, the salivary glands help in chemical digestion by secreting enZymes.in stomach,the gastric juice contains three substances :hydrochloric acid the enzyme pepsin and mucus.
