Digestive System:The system responsible for the digestion of food in our body is known as digestive system.
Parts of Digestive System:
1.Mouth:The mouth has teeth, tongue and salivary glands. Here the food enters the mouth.
2.Salivary Glands:They produce saliva and pour it into the mouth.
3.Oesophagus:It is a muscular tube which help food move to stomach by paristalsis.
4.Stomach:It is a muscular bag which stores food for a short time. It mixes the food with acidic digestive juices.
5.Liver:It produces bile which break up oil drop lets to make them easier to digest.
6.Gall Bladder:It stores bile before pouring it into the duodenum.
7.Pancreas:It produces pancreatic juice which is poured into the duodenum.
8.Small Intestine:Small intestine has following two parts:
Duodenum:It is the first part of small intestine where semi-liquid food is mixed with pancreatic juice and bile.
Ileum:It is the longest part of the small intestine where digested food is absorbed into the blood.
9.Large Intestine:It absorbs water, minerals and some vitamins from the undigested food.
10.Rectum:It stores faeces before their excreation.
11.Anus:It is the exsit for faeces.
