Dobereiner's law of triads states that, the atomic mass of the middle element of a triad is the arithmetic mean of the atomic masses of the other two elements. Example: In thetriad of lithium, sodium and potassium.

Mnojshivanand999: In the year 1817 , Johann Wolfgang Dobereiner , a German chemist has made an attempt to arrange the elements with similar properties into groups having three elements each
Mnojshivanand999: He called these groups as triads . Dobereiner showed that when the three elements in a triad were arranged in the order of increasing atomic masses , the atomic mass of the middle element was roughly the average of the atomic masses of the other two elements .
Mnojshivanand999: Example :
Mnojshivanand999: Elements atomic masses Chlorine ( Cl ). 35.5. Bromine ( Br ). 80. Iodine. ( I ). 127. average atomic mass of first and third elements = 35.5 + 127 = 162.5 ÷ 2 = 81.25 which is approx . Dobereiner could find only 3 triads known
Mnojshivanand999: At that time . These are : 1 . Lithium (Li) , Sodium (Na) ,Potassium (K)
Mnojshivanand999: 2.Calcium (Ca), Strontium (Sr), Barium (Ba)
Mnojshivanand999: 3. Chlorine (Cl) , Bromine (Br) , Iodine (I).

Dobreiner made only 3 three triads.
Uniqueness is that the arthemetic mean of the atomic mass of extreme end's elements are equal to the atomic mass of middle element.
Ex:-
Li ———>6u
Na———>23u((40u + 6u)/2)
K ———>40u.
