Dominant traits as the name suggests, are the, so to say, more dominating traits. While recessive traits are to less dominating ones. Hence, when too alleles combine, the dominate trait dominates the recessive trait. The output will be of the dominant trait.
For example, if the dominant trait of size of the pea is big and recessive is small, then the peas will be big as the "dominant" trait is big.
