⚫The reaction in which two compounds react by an exchange of ions to form two new compounds.
⚫A double displacement reaction usually occurs in solution and one of the products ,being insoluble precipitates out.
⚫Take an example in which we will mix the solutions of sodium chloride and silver nitrate will precipitate out white silver chloride.nitrate ions and chloride ions have been exchanged in this reaction.
⏩ AgNO3+NaCl----->AgCl+NaNO3

Heya !!
Here is your answer..
✔ Double displacement reaction include displacement of either cation or anion in a chemical compound.
✔ The exchange takes place between the two compound and truly different compound are formed.
✔ Example :
AgNO3 (aq) + NaCl (aq) ==> AgCl (s) + NaNO3 (aq)
BaCl2 (aq) + CuSO4 (aq) ==> BaSO4 (s) + CaCl2 (aq)
Hope it helps..
