As intermolecular forces increase; rate of evaporation decreases. This happens because intermolecular forces make it less likely for the molecules on the surface to escape from the liquid and become vapour (gas). b. As temperature increases, rate of evaporation also increases.

Explanation:

Temperature: The greater the temperature of the liquid and its surroundings, the faster the rate of evaporation. ... Humidity of the surroundings: The greater the humidity of the atmosphere surrounding the water, the slower the rate of evaporation.
