hey!!!

our universe is a weird and truly wonderful space. stars are born and explode..

there are 8 planets in our solar system. and these 8 planets are divided in 2 parts.

>> INNER PLANETS
>> OUTER PLANETS

INNER PLANETS - there are four inner planets and these planets are called so because they orbit relatively close to the sun.

1. mercury
2. Venus
3. earth
4. mars

these four inner planets are rocky and terrestrial..

MERCURY :-

mercury is a dusty planet and it's very small. it's surface is pitted with craters. surface temperature = 430°C to - minus 180°C. no. of moons - 0, period of 1 revolution = 88days, period of rotation = 59 days

VENUS :-

Venus is wrapped in a thick Atmosphere of carbon-dioxide and many other gases. it is the hottest planet in our solar system and it's temperature can go upto 470°C. it is also called the twin planet of earth as it's almost the same size of earth. no. of moons - 0, period of 1 revolution = 224.7 days and period of rotation = 243 days

EARTH :-

earth is the only planet in the solar system with life. earth is also called blue planet because 70% of earth's surface is covered with water. no. of moon - 1, period of 1 revolution = 365 days and period of rotation = 24 hours (approximately)

MARS :-

mars is also known as the red planet because of the reddish dust scattered on its surface. mars is the only planet to have atmospheric and daytime temperatures remotely like the earth's but the atmosphere is so thin that night Temperature plunge below minus 140°C. no. of moons - 2 (phobos and deimos), period of 1 revolution = 687 days and period of rotation = 24 hours 37 mins.

OUTER PLANETS - these planets are far away from the sun and mostly made up of gases.

1. jupiter
2. Saturn
3. Uranus
4. Neptune

JUPITER :- it is the largest planet in the solar system. jupiter is mostly made up of hydrogen and helium gas. no. of moon - 67 (most famous - gallien moons), period of 1 revolution = 11.86 years and period of rotation = 9 hours 55 mins

SATURN :- Saturn is almost big as jupiter. it is surrounded with a shimmering halo of rings. no. of moons - 62 (most famous - titan), period of 1 revolution = 29.46 years and period of rotation = 10 hours 40 mins

URANUS :- Saturn is rm4 times wide as the earth. it is so far from the sun that temperatures on the surface plunge to minus 210°C. no. of moons - 27, period of 1 revolution = 84 years and period of rotation = 16.8 hours

NEPTUNE :- Neptune is slightly smaller than Uranus and equally cold like Uranus. Neptune has a giant storm area called the great dark spot. no. of moons - 14, period of 1 revolution = 165 years and period of rotation = 16 hours 11 mins.

cheers!!!
