Answer:

heyy Mate here is ur ans----

✔✔✔Electrolysis is a process by which electrical energy is used to produce a chemical change. Perhaps the most familiar example of electrolysis is the decomposition (breakdown) of water into hydrogen and oxygen by means of an electric current. The same process can be used to decompose compounds other than water.

Electrolysis

The word 'electrolysis' is made up of two words : electro + lysis, lysis meaning 'breaking down'. So, electrolysis means a process of breaking down of a substance by passing an electric current through it in its dissolved or molten state. The dissolved or molten state opposite change that is being decomposed is called electrolyte. The container in which electrolysis is brought about is called an electrolytic cell. An electrolytic cell consists of two electrodes and an electrolyte. An electrode is a conductor that allows electric current to pass from one medium to another using the graphite or metal plate or rods.
