Electrostatic force :- The electrostatic force is an attractive and repulsive force between particles due to the electric charge present in them.

◘ This is also known as Coulomb force.

◘ Electrostatic force is one of the four fundamental forces:

• Gravitational force

• Electrostatic force

• Strong nuclear force

• Weak nuclear force

Examples :-

• When we rub a comb in our head and bring it closer to some paper pieces, those pieces would get attracted towards the comb.

• A balloon attracts another balloon when one of them is rubbed with wall.

• Lightning is the best example of electrostatic force. This occurs when the clouds rub with each other.

• We hear a cracking sound or see a spark when we take off our synthetic clothes. This happens because of the rubbing of the fabric with our body.

Answer:

The electrostatic force is also known as the Coulomb force or Coulomb interaction. It's the attractive or repulsive force between two electrically charged objects. Like charges repel each other while unlike charges attract each other. Coulomb's law is used to calculate the strength of the force between two charges.
