endoplasmic reticulum. Theendoplasmic reticulum is defined as a series of folded membranes in the cells which are associated with protein synthesis, storage and the movement of cellular materials. An example of theendoplasmic reticulum is the place that steroids are stored in the cells for later use.

Endoplasmic reticulum ( ER ) is a cellular organelle . It is the transport network for molecules going to specific places , as compared to molecules that float freely in the cytoplasm . The endoplasmic reticulum is in cells that h a Nucleus : in eukaryotic cells but not in prokaryotic cells .
