☞ Fission is the division of a single entity into two or more parts and the regeneration of those parts to separate entities resembling the original.

☞ The object experiencing fission is usually a cell, but the term may also refer to how organisms, bodies, populations, or species split into discrete parts.

 \huge \blue {Types}

☞ Fission can be of two types:-

(a) Binary fission:- Parent cell divides into two equal halves called daughter cells. Daughter cells are identical to each other and to their parent cell. Organisms like the amoeba, bacteria, etc. exhibit binary fission.

(b) Multiple fission:- Organism divides itself into numerous daughter cells. Organisms like sporozoans, algae, etc. exhibit multiple fusion.
