1.Gomasthas were the paid servants appointed by the industrialists in British period.

2.Their work is to supervise the weavers.

3.They check the quality and quantity of the cloth before exporting.

4.They have loans for the weavers to buy raw cotton goods for weaving.

5.In case of any delays in supplies, these gomasthas acted arrogantly to the weavers by beating and flogging them.
