When a current carrying conductorcomes under a magnetic field, there will be force acting on the conductor and on the other hand, when a conductor is forcefully brought under a magnetic field, there will be an induced current in the conductor. This is the working principle of a motor and a generator respectively. So, in a motor and a generator there is a relation between magnetic field, current and force.

According to this rule, stretch the thumb,
fore-finger and middle finger of left hand such that they are mutually perpendicular. If first finger points in the direction of the magnetic field, the middle points in the direction of flow of current, then the thumb points in the direction of motion I.e. force acting on the conductor
