Food chain is a system in our ecosystem in which all organism depend on each other forms food.
LET take a example of a tree which take nutrients from soil and air and it ate by Animals like deer etc. Then carnivores hunt deer and balance ecosystem.
Why food chain is important
From above example if a deer continuously eat the plants and tree then one they there will no forest but carnivores animal control them by hunting. That why we need to save animals like tiger and lion to protect our ecosystem

Hey mate, here is your answer :
Food chain refers to the sequence of events in an ecosystem, where one organism eats another and then is eaten by another organism. It starts with the primary source like the sun or hydrothermal vents where producers make food, continues with consumers or animals who eat the food, and ends with the top predator.
Some examples include plants and algae.
