Answer:

The Ammonia molecule is generally made by reaction between 1 Nitrogen atom with 3 Hydrogen atoms. A single Nitrogen atom has five electrons in its valence shell , while each Hydrogen atom has one electron.

Explanation:

Electronic configuration~ The atomic number of Nitrogen is 7 . So it's electronic configuration at ground state is 1s^2 , 2s^2 ,2p^3.

And of Hydrogen is 1s^1 as its atomic number is 1.

Nitrogen has 5 electrons in its valence shell... and to get stable configuration i.e. ,the octet configuration , it needs more 3 electrons... and hence it borrows three electrons from Hydrogen.

It has to gain electrons to get stability. Hence it forms Anion(-ve).

Here, Hydrogen atom has only one electron in its outermost orbit.

Hence 3 Hydrogen atoms have to come together to lend the valence electrons to Nitrogen molecule.

Here, Hydrogen has to lose electrons to get stability. It forms Cation (+ve).

Then three moles of Hydrogen combine with one mole of Nitrogen to form NH3 Molecule.
